Heather is originally from the USA and has been living in Morocco for 16+ years. She is mom to Hiba and Youssef and lives between beautiful Rabat and rural Khouribga with her Moroccan-American family.

Heather is a creator and social entrepreneur. She has a BFA in Graphic Design and Art Therapy from the School of Visual Arts and a Masters Degree in Global Affairs from New York University. She started her career working as a designer for Material ConneXion in NYC and then served as a small business volunteer with the United States Peace Corps in Boujad, Morocco in 2003.

Since her experience in the Peace Corps it was her dream to start a company to employ and empower women. In 2009 she started an artisan accessories brand and currently leads a team of Moroccan artisans in designing and producing a custom collection of women's handbags, clothing, jewlery, and home items. Heather also serves as a consultant in sustainable development and women's empowerment for the private sector and Moroccan NGOs.

In her free time she loves to kayak, to swim, drive on dirt roads, spend time in Morocco's wildflowers, and to connect with like-minded people from all over the world. She is happy to serve on the ICOR board as Marketing Chair.
